Smokin’ Guns BBQ restaurant has been serving up ribs, burnt ends, turkey and pulled pork sandwiches in good ol’ North Kansas City since January 2003. Then, Smokin’ Guns BBQ was nestled in among most of NKC’s industrial district. With only a few restaurants in the area, Smokin’ Guns BBQ became a fast-growing favorite to those who lived and worked in the area.

After our first visit from The Food Network’s, Guy Fieri, business blew through the roof. Literally. Soon after Smokin’ Guns BBQ broke ground on a new 11,000 square foot facility that house an all-new dining room, a full bar, Hopkins Hall event space, and a spectacular roof top deck that overlooks downtown Kansas City.

The new building opened its doors to the public on January 2nd, 2013. Smokin’ Guns BBQ went from seating 42 people to well over 400 people with the new building.

Smokin’ Guns is a family-owned and run operation and you are likely to find a member of the Hopkins family there every single day! Smokin’ Guns BBQ has also branched out to hosting some amazing special events, such as the beer pairing dinners, daily specials and live music topside on Gunner’s Deck.

Hopkins Hall, the onsite event space that seats 80 people comfortably inside an open concept room, features glass garage doors that overlook the beautiful KC skyline. Hopkins Hall has a full bar and multiple catering menus to help streamline any event or meeting.

What’s BBQ without rubs and sauces?! Smokin’ Guns continues to sell their own rub line since 2000 including sauces to dealers across the nation and internationally to BBQ supply stores as well as online at www.smokingunsbbq.com. Smokin’ Guns BBQ restaurant, located across the river from downtown Kansas City, is a true testament to being a family run business born from a hobby that became a way of life.
