Horror, sci-fi, and thriller film fans gather once again for Panic Fest, the annual film and live event festival running from January 24-30 at Screenland Armour in North Kansas City. More than 60 films will be screened at the theater including blocks of short film showcases. Moviemaker Magazine recognized Panic Fest as a 25 Bloody Best Genre Fests of 2020. Looking at the diverse range of films on the slate, it’s easy to see why. Here’s a peek at a few of the many films lined up.
Color Out of Space, based on a tale by author H.P. Lovecraft, stars Nicholas Cage in a town that is struck by a meteorite and the fallout is catastrophic.
The Room revolves around Matt and Kate, who buy an isolated house. While moving, they discover a strange room that grants them an unlimited number of material wishes. But, since Kate has had two miscarriages, what they miss the most is a child.
Eat, Brains, Love is a laugh-out-loud funny, surprisingly romantic, zombie road trip movie filled with heart – and brains.
A Good Woman is Hard to Find tells the story of a recently widowed young mother will go to any lengths to protect her children as she seeks the truth behind her husband’s murder.

Fangoria and horror genre professor Dr. Rebekah McKendry, one of America’s leading horror genre experts, unite for Nightmare University. Dr. McKendry and a notable genre industry expert explore a specific element of the horror genre. Each show feels like a lively university class discussing horror history, key players, and important films.
